One cant be expected to have detailed knowledge of the subject so have to rely on sales people and contractors to provide information.

ABOUT ME
More than 40 years experience going back to the first development of aggregate based artificial cricket pitches makes me the most exprienced person in this field. I have been involved in the development of all pitch systems including:
The Nottinghamshire Pitch systems
The Envelope system
The NottsBase system
The Test Match system
The Premier system
As all pitches of this type are derivatives of these systems I am ideally placed not only to design facilities but also to advise on all types of facility. Contracting and sales companies are only interested in selling you their own designs and products in order to maximise their income. This means they dont necessarily offer the best available option in terms of performance, maintenance or longevity.
As a club cricketer for more than 35 years I know the importance of getting the performance and design of the facility right for each individual club, something I have endeavoured to do for more than 30 years of commercial activity specialising in the provision of cricket facilities for match and practice.
